Amendment 8

Constitutional Connection: Amendment 8 - Cruel and Unusual Punishment; Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Explanation of Connection: The cartoon shows a boy getting beat by a principal because he was disobeying his teacher. This story goes to court and they remind the judge that this is breaking the 8th amendment.

This political cartoon demonstrates Amendment 8 - Cruel and Unusual Punishment of the United States Constitution. The 8th Amendment was ratified December 15, 1791 which means that citizens should not be punish in a cruel or unusual way.

I am actually glad that they made this amendment, but it is not working because criminals get punish and sometimes get the death sentence. Sometimes they are in jail and regret the things they do in the pass. Other people are getting fined for doing uncivilized things, like drugs. The government should not worry about the individuals in the world, but the world as a whole. Will Congress pass a bill that prohibits criminals from being executed?
