The executive branch 2

Source: Obama: 'By Aug. 31, 2010, Combat Mission in Iraq Will End'

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/International/story?id=6971574&page=1 Constitutional Connection: Article II, Section 2

"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to Grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of impeachment"

Explanation of Connection: This article is about how Obama is trying to get the troops out of war in 2010. He is going to end combat operations for majority of the troops august 31, 2010.

This article demonstrates Article II, Section 2 of the united constitution. The president is the commander in Chief of the Army and Navy and has the power. If he wants to take troops out of war, then he can.

I think this is a good idea. Obama can save many lives by taking majority of these troops out of war. Many troops are sons, daughters, moms, and dads and they need to be with their family.
