Constitutional Connection: Article III, Section 2
"The judicial Power shall extend to all Cases, in Law and Equity, arising under this Constitution, the Laws of the United States, and Treaties made, or which shall be made, under their Authority; to all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls; to all Cases of admiralty and maritime Jurisdiction; to Controversies to which the United States shall be a Party; to Controversies between two or more States; between a State and Citizens of another State; between Citizens of different States; between Citizens of the same State claiming Lands under Grants of different States, and between a State, or the Citizens thereof, and foreign States, Citizens or Subjects."
Explanation of Connection: This cartoon demonstrates Article III, Section 2 of the United States. The Supreme Court has power over the other courts. In other cases the Supreme Court has appellant jurisdiction. The trial of all crimes shall be by jury.
I think it is good that the Jury is a good way to charge a criminal. The Jury has to come up with a decision, either the prisoner is guilty or not. Sometimes you can pull the jury to have each individual tell what they think.

Explanation of Connection: This article is about how Obama is trying to get the troops out of war in 2010. He is going to end combat operations for majority of the troops august 31, 2010.
This article demonstrates Article II, Section 2 of the united constitution. The president is the commander in Chief of the Army and Navy and has the power. If he wants to take troops out of war, then he can.
I think this is a good idea. Obama can save many lives by taking majority of these troops out of war. Many troops are sons, daughters, moms, and dads and they need to be with their family.

The 10th Amendment
Source: Child Support Recovery Act Violates Tenth Amendment
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa3898/is_200106/ai_n8957874/
Constitutional Connection: Amendment 10; Powers of the State and People
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
Explanation of Connection: This article is about how the court believes that the Child Support Recovery Act violates the Tenth Amendment. A Texas resident was indicted under the Child Support Recovery Act for failing to make support payment for his child, who resided in New York. The man argues that the CSRA violates the 10th Amendment because it exceeds congress's power to regulate interstate commerce.
This article demonstrates the 10th Amendment- Powers of the state and People of the United States Constitution. The tenth amendment gives people the right to have power, also that the government has the right to regulate only matters delegated to it by the constitution.
I believe that the man should not be indicted because he could not make payments for his child, not everyone has all that money. Also if the Supreme Court believes that the Child Support Recovery Act violates the tenth amendment why was it ever made?

Connection to Constitution: 4th Amendment-Search and Seizure
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
Explanation of Constitution: This article is about how the senator and representatives ignored the 4th amendment to punish Major League Baseball and other professional leagues for not imposing penalties on players for testing positive for performance enhancing drugs.
This article demonstrates the 4th amendment Search and Seizure in the United States Constitution. The 4th Amendment gives people the right to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects. Their 4th Amendment should not be violated.
I only believe that people playing in sports should get tested for steroids. Many people who do steroids are hurting themselves and steroids can cause people to do some bad things to the people they love. So i think that atletes should get tested even if it is violation their 4th amendment.

Constitutional Connection: Article I, Section 7
"all bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills."
Explanation of Connection: This is article is about how Obama wants Congress to work on immigration reform. He wants to fix the nations immigration system. He also criticized Arizona Immigration law as the wrong approach.
This article demonstrates Article 1, Section 7 of the United States Constitution. The Congress has many rights. The Congress is the Branch that makes the bills. A bill is originated in the House and then go to the senate, but before it becomes a law it has to be shown to the President.
I think that Obama should have congress work on immigration reform because illegal immigration got out of hand. We have a lot of illegal immigrants, but I think that immigrants should come to the United States because they come here for better opportunities and we get oil from them.

http://www.opednews.com/articles/Is-Rod-Blagojevich-s-sixth-by-Mary-MacElveen-090101-36.html
Constitutional Connection: 6th Amendment- Right to Speedy Trial, Confrontation to Witnesses
"In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence."
Explanation of Connection: This article is about how Rod Blagojevich is still a person with rights and people ask the question was his rights violated when he was charged with multiple crimes.
This article demonstrates the 6th Amendment-Right to Speedy Trial, Confrontation to Witnesses of the United States Constitution. The Sixth Amendment sets rights related to criminal prosecutions. Also with the sixth Amendment it gives defendants in criminal cases the right to a speedy trial.
In my opinion i believe that Rod Blagojevich is a good man, but did not make good choices. Yes Rod Blagojevich has rights and no one should violate his rights.

Constitutional Connection: Amendment 1- Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Explanation of Connection: This picture demonstrates Amendment 1 Freedom of Assembly of the United States Constitution. In this picture it shows how most people support immigration and really do not care of what the government or other people say. Also, it shows some immigrants protesting, supporting immigration.
When the first amendment was ratified, it gave many people a chance to protest about their interests and what is important in the world. Some Laws gives a person a reason to protest because it is isn't fair to other people.
Me personally really do not care about immigration. I do not see why people from Mexico and other countries need documents just to be in the United States. Immigrants come to the United States for a better opportunity because there are many jobs that they can get. It is so much easier for someone in the United States to travel to Mexico, we are always welcomed there, but here the immigrants are not.

Explanation of Connection: This article is about how the supreme court strikes down the law to ban all dog fighting videos posted online by people. The Supreme Court believes it is violating the first amendment; freedom of speech.
This article demonstrates Article III, Section 1- Judicial Powers of the United States. The Supreme Court has a lot of power and they decide what to do with it.When it comes to laws they try to make things better, but they do not want to go against the constitution.
I believe that dog fighting should not be allowed because many animals suffer from wounds they get. They need to have a new bill where videotapes of dog fighting is illegal. The supreme court need to wake up because dogs are dying and getting injured from this.

First Amendment- Freedom of Press
Constitutional Connection- Amendment 1; Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Explanation of Connection- This political cartoon is about how a man is giving the editor a paper talking about his passion with his wife, he is writing things that might excite people and sell papers because gossip makes money.
This cartoon demonstrates Amendment 1 Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression of the United States Constitution. The first amendment gave people the right to do many things. One of the rights is freedom of press which gives people the right to be in their vehicle and get media by recording people.
I really think that there should not be a freedom of press because the paparazzi is invading people privacy. Some people who are gossipers say mean, horrible, and sometimes untrue things about celebrities. People need to know when to give celebrities privacy.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Explanation of Connection- This article is about how a man is speaking for everyone to the government talking about how animal cruelty should stop and how the government is not doing anything about it and that many animals will suffer if animal cruelty is not stopped.
This article demonstrates Amendment 1; Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression of the United states Constitution. When the first amendment was ratified December 15, 1791, it gave people the right to say whatever they want, when they want and not have to worry about consequences. The congress can not prohibit freedom of speech.
I believe that the government should put an end to animal cruelty because many animals are suffering because their owners are not responsible or mature enough to take care of their pets the right way. If the government can ban child pornography why cant they ban animal cruelty. Animals and children should be protected by people not harmed.

Constitutional Connection: Article III- The Judicial Branch, Section 1
"The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behavior, and shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services a Compensation which shall not be diminished during their Continuance in Office."
Explanation of Connection: This article is about how the California Law is trying to ban violent video games for minors without going against the first amendment. California won the hearing to the supreme court. This way the state can have what they want and do not have to worry about going against the firs amendment because the protection of free speech does not apply to children and teens.
This article demonstrates Article III, section 1 of the United States Constitution. The supreme court has more power than other courts to cases that are presented. The Supreme court has a choice to wither agree or disagree with California, and they chose to agree. This shows how much power the Supreme court has.
I totally agree with California. I think that they should not sell violent video games to minors because children these days do what they see on video games in real life. I believe that the supreme court agree because they do not want children to be influenced by violence and they trying to protect them and other people.

Constitutional Congress: Article 1, The Legislative Branch, Section 7
"Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively. If any Bill shall not be returned by the President within ten Days (Sundays excepted) after it shall have been presented to him, the Same shall be a Law, in like Manner as if he had signed it, unless the Congress by their adjournment prevent its Return, in which Case it shall not be a Law."
Explanation of Connection: Congress are sending a bill to President Obama to restore unemployment benefits for people who been out of work for months. The bill will give hundreds and thousands of citizens to reapply for jobs.
This article clearly demonstrates Article 1, Section 7 of the United States Constitution. All bills must originate with the House of Representatives and be passed to the Senate. All bills should be presented to the President and the president would either sign it or not. If not sign the House where the bill originated will reconsider the bill again.
I believe that this bill is important because it will give more unemployed citizens a chance to have a job and be able to support not only their family, but themselves. Also and people would not have to really worry about them not having a way to not pay bills.

Explanation of Connection: The government is trying to take guns away, which is part of the 2nd amendment, the right to bear arms. Citizens of Washington d.c.,Virgina believes that the government are socialists and they are taking things away from them. The anger of citizens for the government and Obama is increasing. There are other protests and rallies going on.
This article demonstrates Amendment 2- Right to bear arms of the United States Constitution. The government can take away the rights to the citizens and can do what they want. They have the ability to do things and it is done.
I think that the government should take away guns because it creates more violence in the world. Guns should only be use in war only. People who do not have a license to have a gun, shouldn't have one, but I do not think that the government should take away guns because people need them to be protected and if they do this then they are going against the constitution.
